suggestions for naming nouns
Information in MindModel is stored as nouns and statements.
Since most of your time with MindModel will be spent querying data, the names you choose for the nouns you add to your models are very important.
Please consider the following suggestions when choosing noun names.
Q. What do I do when I know that a noun exists, but I don't know its name? For example, I know that there is a company in Connecticut that sells widgets, but I don't know the name of the company.
A. It's often useful to keep track of nouns, even when you're not sure of their exact names.
In these cases, you may want to put the noun names in parentheses.
(In the following examples, the quotation marks ("") are not part of the names.)
For example, you could name the organization noun "(Widget Company)".
The parentheses ("()") around the name are your note to yourself that you don't yet know the name of the company.
Since parentheses sort before letters in the alphabet, your parenthesized organization names will sort to the top of the Nouns List in the Model Window.
So, for example, your Nouns List might contain:
(Widget Company)
(XYZ Company)
Acme Rocket Fuel
Bob's Fashion Hut
etc.
The same technique works for person nouns, or any other type of nouns, not just for organizations.
