2.4 - Menus - Statements Menu

The Statements Menu contains commands which work with the statements in the Statements List of the current Model Window.

The picture above shows twelve menu items, each corresponding to a command in the Statements Menu. In this picture, all of the menu items are enabled, meaning that they are ready to be clicked.

Sometimes when you're using MindModel, you will notice that all except for three of the menu items are disabled, meaning that they appear grayed out, and can't be clicked.

At these times, the menu will look like this:

MindModel decides whether or not to disable items in the Statements Menu depending on whether or not there is currently a statement selected in the Statements List of the current Model Window.

If no Model Windows are open, the items will be disabled. If a Model Window is open, but no statements are selected in the Statements List, the items will be disabled. If the frontmost window in MindModel is not a Model Window, the items will be disabled.

If the frontmost window in MindModel is a Model Window, and a statement in the Statements List is selected, the items will be enabled.

Power-User Tip: The Statements Menu appears in the menu bar at the top of the MindModel screen. This is usually where you will go to use the Statements Menu. If you prefer, you can bring up the Statements Menu by right-clicking a statement in the Statements List of the Model Window.

What are those little black arrows on the right side of the menu?

Those little black arrows indicate that there are sub-menus associated with that menu item.

So clicking on one of the arrows displays additional choices for that menu item.

For example, clicking on the arrow to the right of "Find Nouns" displays three sub-menus:

Find Nouns

in Selected Statement

for All Statements in the List

of One Type in All Statements in the List

Click one of the Statements Menu items below for a description of the command associated with that item.
