1.5.3 - Windows - Simple Query Window - When do you want to find it?

This section describes the "When do you want to find it?" area of the Simple Query Window.

The "When do you want to find it?" Area

The "When do you want to find it?" area, pictured above, controls the time when the Simple Query Window (SQW) finds the nouns or statements you want to find.

If you check the check box in this area, the SQW will find nouns or statements whenever you select an item in the SQW's scrolling lists.

This behavior may be good or bad, depending on your use of MindModel.

If your model is small, i.e. it doesn't contain a large number of statements, you may want the SQW to find items as soon as you make your selections. In this case, leave the check box checked.

If your model is large, you probably won't want to wait while the SQW finds items as you make your selections in the scrolling lists. If you select items in five lists, and the SQW pauses to find items between each selection, you will probably find the delay annoying. In this case, leave the check box unchecked.

Either way, you can use the "Find Nouns Now" button to tell the SQW to find the nouns you've specified.

If you're finding statements, the button will read "Find Statements Now".

NOTE: If you leave the "find when selections change" check box unchecked, the SQW will not find nouns or statements until you click the Find Nouns/Statements Now button.
