3.3 - Add another statement to the model
In the previous section of this guide, we added the statement "Bill Rogers has the skill web site design" to an empty model.
In this section, we'll add another statement about the skill "web site design".
We'll enter that statement that "Jeff Smith doesn't have the skill web site design".
You'll see how MindModel allows you to create relational databases (databases that show relationships between data items) without having to do any programming.
First, let's add Jeff Smith to the model.
Adding Another Person to the Model
Click the "Add a Person" button in the Noun Types Window.
MindModel displays the Add/Edit Noun Form.
Enter Jeff Smith's first and last name, then click OK.
MindModel will add Jeff Smith's name to the Nouns List in the Model Window.
Make sure that Jeff Smith is selected in the Nouns List.
Make sure that the "Add" radio button is selected in the middle of the Model Window. The "Add" button is between the Nouns List and the Statements List.
Click the "Jeff Smith" button in the middle of the Model Window to add a statement for Jeff Smith.
Select the "skills" category from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the Verb tab.
Select the verb "doesn't have the skill" from the list of verbs on the right-hand side of the Verb tab.
Click the Next button.
MindModel displays the Object tab, which looks like this.
You've already told MindModel that "web site design" is a skill when you added the statement "Bill Rogers has the skill web site design" to the model.
Click "web site design" in the skills list, to tell MindModel that you want to relate this new statement to the skill noun "web site design".
Click Finish.
You've now added a new statement "Jeff Smith doesn't have the skill web site design" to your model.
MindModel shows this new statement in the Statements List, along with the first one about Bill.
